The Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF) has refuted a viral letter suggesting that His Excellency Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has started a process to remove Mr Constantino Chiwenga from his position as one of the Vice President.
In the letter, which is circulated widely, President Mnangagwa said Mr Chiwenga has been working with certain unruly elements to tarnish the President's name.
In an exclusive interview, ZANU-PF Spokesperson Farai Marapira said the letter is a prime example of how disinformation is disturbing the smooth operation of Zimbabwean society, politics and business.
He said it is unfortunate that there are some people who only believe that their function is to cause instability and cause alarm amongst the populace.
"It is unfortunately within our midst there are some people who only believe that there are function is to cause instability and their function is to cause alarm and despondence amongst our populace, however strictly measures will be taken and law to attend to the people that are creating the force narrative saying the law shall decent upon them," Mr Marapira said.
He has also disclosed that there are so many fake letters going round saying there the party is on top of the agenda and they will deal with them.
From a close observation of the letter there are inconsistencies in the front used, No original stamp, government address is not clear, The heading "Notice of Appointment when someone is been fired. If you compare between the two letters one would tell that the process to remove Mr Constantino Chiwenga letter is fake.
