CAMFEAD SUPPORTES 31,410 GIRLS

CAMPAIGN for Female Education (CAMFED) Zambia Board Chairperson Enita Hamatumbika says the organization has supported 31,410 girls with bursaries for the year 2023.

Mrs Hamatumbika says the organization implements a comprehensive support system targeted at the most marginalized girls to tackle their impediments to their attendance and success in secondary schools, including the provision of financial, social and community support.

She has applauded government through the ministry of education for allowing CAMFED to scale up the learner guide program adding that she hopes the support will be provided for the adaptation of the program for the education system.

Mrs. Hamatumbika however, adds that partnerships with government have enabled the organization to embed its proven approaches for supporting marginalized girls into national school systems.

Mrs. Hamatumbika was speaking during the 2023 CAMFED Zambia Annual General Meeting.

Meanwhile ministry of education permanent secretary Joel Kamoko has commended CAMFED for its continued support in complimenting government efforts in provision of bursary support to the vulnerable in society.

Mr. Kamoko has acknowledged the efforts and applauded CAMFED for extending the evolvement program beyond their catchment districts to new districts like Lupososhi in Northern province.
