KETTY NANYANGWE RE-ELECTED AS LUSAKA DEPUTY MAYOR


 

Silwizya Ward 16 Councillor Ms. Ketty Nanyangwe has been re-elected as the new Lusaka Deputy Mayor. 

Ms. Nanyangwe of the United Party For National Development-UPND polled 24 votes, beating her closest rival Independent Councillor Shadreck Chimwanga of Kaliki-Liki Ward 34 who polled 14 votes.

Her Honor Ms. Nanyangwe was elected during a Special Council meeting held in the Lusaka City Council Chamber this morning. 

Ms. Ketty Nanyangwe was declared duly elected Deputy Mayor by Returning Officer Engineer Liftery Ndaba, who is the Lusaka Acting Town Clerk.

A total of 39 votes were cast with one vote having been declared as a rejected ballot.
