Zambia High Commissioner to South Africa H.E Ms. Mazuba Monze says Zambia's participation at Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) 2024 will increase demand and visibility for the country’s products in the Southern African market.
Speaking when she met Zambians entrepreneurs who were participating at SAITEX which was held in Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre in South Africa, Ms Monze says such engagements provide an opportunity for Zambian manufacturers seal export deals and create market linkages thereby contributing to the growth of the country’s export sector.
She notes that participation in such high-profile platforms is key towards opening more opportunities, widening markets, and exchange of ideas and that Zambia's participation in SAITEX 2024 is multifaceted.
She says this is aimed at introducing more Zambian entrepreneurs to the South African business environment, facilitating their entry into the market, and conducting business-to-business meetings between players from the two countries to enable them force partnerships.
“This platform has created an opportunity to promote Zambian products in the South African market, increasing visibility and demand, generate export deals and create market linkages, contributing to the growth of Zambia's export sector, facilitate export transactions, and ensuring a seamless exchange of goods and services,” Ms. Monze said.
And Faith Kabende, a Fashion Designer who is part of the Zambian delegation, says she is happy that Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has given her a platform with other Zambians to share knowledge and experiences with other entrepreneurs at the exhibition.
Ms. Kabende says she is grateful for the opportunity to showcase products and services as this helps the participants to explore new market opportunities and foster meaningful business connections.
She said she is looking forward to working with a lot of young entrepreneurs and seeing how best they can collaborate and share business opportunities.
ZDA Assistant Director for Export Promotion Obby Banda led six Zambian enterprises to SAITEX in a strategic move aimed at boosting trade relations between Zambia and South Africa and paving the way for increased economic cooperation and growth across the world.
The delegation's participation in SAITEX 2024 is seen as a significant step towards strengthening trade ties between Zambia and South Africa, ultimately contributing to the region's economic prosperity and the Zambian entrepreneurs were showcasing a range of products and services, highlighting the country's diverse economic offering.
SAITEX, a premier trade exhibition in the region, offers a dynamic platform for businesses to connect with international and local networks, discover innovative products and services, and address specific business needs.
