GREEN PARTY TO CONVERT WASTES INTO CHEAP, “CLEAN” DIESEL AND PETROL

Green Party President Peter Sinkamba says Zambia is a very dirty country saying that Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola and other cities and towns are littered with all sorts of wastes.
Mr Sinkamba said the bulk of the waste is plastic
Mr Sinkamba said the Green Party policy on waste is to convert wastes into resources.
“If you vote for the Green Party on August 11, 2016, we will clean up the country first and for most” Mr Sinkamba said
“The Green Party plans to rid cities and towns of plastic wastes. We plan to convert some wastes into energy. Plastic wastes will in turn be converted into cheap “clean” diesel and petrol. The objective is to cut fuel import costs by 65% and invest savings into science, research, technology, creativity and innovation” he said
He says the Green Party will establish the Petroleum Institute at Copperbelt University.
He explains that the Institute will offer degrees in Petroleum Engineering, Polymers Science, Material Science and Mechanical Engineering.
The Institute will be charged with the task to design and manufacture devises that make diesel and petrol using biomass.
‘We plan to produce cheap and reliable micro devices that can convert about 60 kg of plastic into 60 liters of fuel in one day. The reactors for the units to be designed will use electricity from renewable sources (solar). The devices will cost maximum US$1,000 so that individuals, SMEs and farmers can use these devices to make their own fuel simply by converting plastic waste to fuel. He said
He said every sawmill and farm could then use leafs, wet grass, saw dust and all kind of biomass to gasify it into tar like substance that then can be pumped through the pyrolysis device and turned into biodiesel.
