Local government Minister Garry Nkombo says the contests of the Tobacco Control Bill require to be looked at very carefully and to get the best out of the bad situation.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Nkombo said if he had his own way he would have burn smoking but it is not possible because part of such results which is a drastic radicle move can turn the economy upside down.
" The consumption of tobacco in the world is so high, Some of us if we had our way we would have burn smoking but it is not possible. If we look at the Malawi as a country the main stay is tobacco just like in Zambia the main stay is copper" Mr Nkombo said
He said tobacco is a big world industry that requires to be regulated and a lot of mechanics have to be done in order to get the best out of a bad situation.
He says there is a need to restrict the issue of confinement of smoking zones.
Mr Nkombo added that it's the matter of culture that people should restrict themselves in where to smoke from.
