GOVERNMENT WOOS INVESTORS TO HELP BRIDGE THE HOUSING DEFICIT IN COUNTY :



Government calls for construction of more Housing units in order to address the deficit of acomodation challenge being experienced in some parts of the country. 

Speaking at the celebration of the Emerald Hill 300 housing unit construction project on Saturday night as a guest of Honor, Chongwe Mayor Mr. Christopher Habeenzu, say this country needs affordable and decent housing to address the demand of acomodation.

Mr. Habeenzu disclosed that the milestone celebration of the 300 out the targeted 700 housing units at Emerald Hill in Chongwe district will provide an opportunity for citizens to own houses.

His Worship the Mayor explained that the Emerald Hill housing project by PANORAMA Africa Investment Group Limited by the Chinese will help to bridge the gap of housing challenge because most people will be able to purchase due to its flexible options of payment put in place by the company.

Mr. Habeenzu who expressed happiness with the quality and flexible purchasing terms , urged the Chinese company to spread it's housing project to other places of Chongwe district after completion of the current 700 units.

He disclosed that Chongwe district has got space of land for any investors to construct houses to provide decent acomodation to the public.

" I will tell you one thing, Chongwe has got a space, have got the land this country needs decent houses within access to affordable and decent housing. So feel free to approach authorities, will take you to land where you think it will be appropriate". Said Mr. Habeenzu.

Mr. Habeenzu indicated that Chongwe has a great potential for the construction of houses because of plenty of land and it's access to big market in Lusaka.

He explained that Lusaka district provides market to Chongwe district because of high population but has no land to provide for development.

" Chongwe has a space to dedicate, secondly, we have access to big Market our neighbor Lusaka. The village of Lusaka, they have the people but do not have land, they don't have International Airport as KK1 is in Chongwe," he said.

He indicated that government appreciates the participation of the private sector in infrastructure development as they help to plan with good housing designs to display beauty but also quality houses because of project management.

And in her Closing Remarks, Kafue Constituency Member of Parliament , Mirriam Chinyama Chonya who is a beneficiary applauded Emerald by Hill for it's noble gesture to provide affordable acomodation through housing initiative.

She explained that the housing project initiative was in line with the New Dawn Vision government led by His Excellence President Hikainde Hichilema, who was determined to address the housing deficit currently experienced in the country.

Mrs Chonya who has also purchased a house in the area further appreciated the company for it's Corporate Social Responsibility by donating a total sum of K20, 000 to Ellensidale Primary school in Chongwe.

Meanwhile PANORAMA Africa Panorama Investment Group Limited Managing Director,Don Hu, disclosed that the housing units comes with the community needs.

Mr. Hu disclosed that the area has standards shops a clinic to be opened next year and all necessities.

He explained that the company provide affordable payment mode starting with a 10% of total required amount , then starts with construction when owner pay upto 50% to the purchasing price depending on what a Clint needs.
