As the number of cholera infected patients rises,
the Trade Kings Foundation has partnered with the Ministry of Health to fight
against the spread of cholera, by donating Hygiene items to the value of ZMK
2.5 million.
The donation took place at the Heroes Stadium, the
epicenter of cholera, where Trade Kings Group's Public Relations Manager,
Bridget Kambobe, handed over the donation to the Minister of Health, Hon Sylvia
Masebo, and the health workers.
Ms Masebo has disclosed that 25 have
died in the last 24 hours and 700 are admitted at Heroes stadium for treatment.
Speaking after receiving a of K2.5
million worth of donation from Trade Kings Foundation, Minister of Health Ms.
Sylvia Masebo encouraged Zambian's to maintain hygiene.
Ms. Masebo pledged to reduce the
number of deaths despite the numbers of those taken I'll of the pandemic.
She revealed that among the 25 who
have succumbed to cholera is a child.
"We are overwhelmed with the
numbers of patients, that's why we urge people especially in high density areas
to maintain hygiene making sure that they take boiled and chlorinated
water," she stated.
Speaking at the occasion "The Trade Kings Foundation
Public Relations Manager Ms Kambobe said, trade kings is extremely concerned
with the cholera outbreak and the unfortunate loss of lives.
Ms. Kambobe added that Trade Kings
Foundation has given the K2.5 million worth of goods as one step towards the
many more that they are yet to give towards the mitigation of the disease.
She said the foundation is happy to
partner in the period of crisis as many people have been affected of the
disease and that they feel affected as more are taken I'll who need to be well.
