Mafinga Member of Parliament, Hon. Robert Chabinga, has called on Zambian diplomats in Ethiopia to follow President Hakainde Hichilema's example in attracting foreign investment to Zambia.
During a courtesy call at the Zambia Embassy in Addis Ababa, Hon. Chabinga emphasized that President Hichilema has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving Zambia’s economic standing.
"Since President Hichilema assumed office in 2021, Zambia’s international profile has significantly improved. The country's economic recovery is evident, with various global economic rating agencies recognizing the strides made," said Hon. Chabinga.
He added that Zambia's enhanced reputation presents a unique opportunity for diplomats to further advocate for foreign investment and economic collaboration.
Hon. Chabinga further emphasized on the importance of upholding National Values and Principles, pointing out that the development of Zambia, was a collective responsibility that extended beyond the Presidency, to all citizens, including opposition political parties.
He stated that patriotism, national unity and collective participation were relevant for Zambia’s sustainable development.
Hon. Chabinga is currently in Ethiopia on a familiarization tour of an Ethiopian company specializing in mineral clustering.
In response, the Zambia Embassy in Ethiopia's Charge d'Affaires, Ms. Kalumbu Mayondi- Phiri, expressed gratitude for the MP's visit and assured him that Zambia's diplomats in Ethiopia remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
