CHARGÉ D'AFFAIRES OF THE INDONESIAN EMBASSY NOTES WITH CONCERN CHALLENGES EXPERIENCED BY THE INDONESIAN TO ACQUIRE THE ZAMBIAN VISA.

Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe accredited to Zambia Panca Hendarto has noted with concern challenges experienced by the Indonesian tourists and businesspeople when seeking to acquire the Zambian VISA.

Mr Hendarto said the process has been so challenging which has made scammers take advantage of the situation to scam business and tourists people by making them pay huge sum of money.

‘Many of our people in Indonesia have travelled to America and European countries but when want to come to Zambia and seeking to get the visa they go online they mostly find agents offering to assist them and sometimes charging as much as US$ 300 and some of them turn out to be scammers,’’ Mr Hendarto said

Speaking an interview, Mr Hendarto noted that Visa process was also disadvantaging many people from Indonesian who want to come and invest in different sectors such as Agriculture, energy and other sectors.

He appealed to government through the ministry of home affairs to improve the accessibility and give more information on their website and other social media pages on how to obtain the Zambian visa.

‘Zambia through the ministry of home affairs should give more information on their website and other social media pages on how to obtain a Zambian visa, this will be helpful to our tourists and business who are looking to Zambia as an investment destination people who wish to visit Zambia, ’He stated.

 He said his country see a lot of progress in Zambia particularly in the mining and agriculture sector of which Indonesia with a population of 280 million and growing as developing middle income country has a lot to offer for Africa especially Zambia.

Mr Hendarto said there was need for the two countries to enhance corporation and exchange information to foster development.
