MINISTER of Education
Douglas Syakalima says Education remains a cornerstone of Zambia’s development
and a ladder through which young people can climb
out of poverty.

place in building our great nation,’’ Mr Syakalima said
Speaking
during the awarding of Edoofa scholarships in Lusaka, Mr Syakalima said more than 250 Zambian
students were studying in India through Edoofa a clear
testament to the trust and impact this partnership has achieved.
He said
Edoofa has built a strong community of over 6,000 international students
and was also creating a powerful network for leadership, cultural exchange, and
employment opportunities.
Mr Syakalima
noted that the programme was not only creating pathways for the students to
access quality and affordable high education abroad but also ensuring that
there are equipped with leadership capacity and global exposure that will benefit
both their personal growth and the national progress.
He said he was happy
that Edoofa had provided 10 full scholarships to Zambian students, valued at K5
million, through the Ministry of Education.
‘This contributing
will change lives and uplift many families and also
inspire many younger Zambians to pursue excellence, ’he said.
Mr Syakalima
the program had connected thousands of African students with high changing opportunities.
He
urged the Zambians students to carry the dignity of the country and excel in
their studies and come back prepared to contribute to the national growth.

Edoofa
was established by Mr Sigh and Mr Avreen Sigh, who envisioned accessible,
employability-driven education in the year 2009 and it helps students to quest
for affordable higher education via internship and scholarships.
