The Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) has today commenced a Procurement Planning Workshop aimed at preparing the institution’s 2026 Procurement Plan. The workshop runs from today to Friday and brings together staff from various departments.
The workshop was officially opened by the Acting Executive Director, Eng. Dr. Michael Kalumbu Nsefu, the 2026 Procurement Planning Workshop is being convened with full Management support to strengthen a professional, transparent, and results-driven procurement function at ZMA.
In his remarks, Eng. Dr. Nsefu emphasized the importance of inclusive staff participation in decision-making, the critical role of effective planning, and strict compliance with Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) requirements, particularly the need for approved procurement plans.
The workshop also seeks to enhance teamwork across departments and improve coordination between procurement, finance, and user units, ensuring an efficient and effective financial cycle that delivers value for money and timely service delivery.
This initiative reaffirms ZMA’s commitment to accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the management of public resources.
